Fandom week in review

Here's a look back at some of the stories that had superfans in the geek world buzzing this week:

Relax: Matt Smith isn't quitting "Doctor Who" anytime soon. [Doctor Who TV]

That long-awaited "Ender's Game" movie is coming March 15, 2013! [Summit Entertainment]

When he's not directing one of the most highly-anticipated comic book movies of all time, Joss Whedon (and many friends you may recognize - "Bam said the lady" ring a bell?) is adapting Shakespeare. [CNN Marquee Blog/EW]

Get the "Harry Potter" movies while you can, because like Disney often does, they're going "in the vault" at the end of the year. [Deadline]

The new "Beetlejuice" is a sequel, not a remake. [EW]

Season Three of "The Walking Dead," Season Two of "Person of Interest," and Season Two of "Falling Skies" (which airs on TNT, owned by Time Warner, which owns CNN) are on like Donkey Kong! [AMC/CBS/TNT]

Two giants of geek entertainment are joining forces: the legendary Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment announced a partnership with Michael Eisner's (former head honcho of Disney, during its "Aladdin"/"Lion King" heyday) and his independent studio, Vuguru. POW! Entertainment]

The rumors are false: "The Dark Knight Rises" is not going to "occupy Wall Street." [EW]

We're all kinds of intrigued by the new "Hugo" trailer [YouTube]

And this "Frankenweenie" remake is looking better all the time. [EW]

Pikachus made from real rats. Really! [Huffington Post]

Katie (of "The Force is with Katie" fame) had a rocking good time – with lightsabers, of course - at the recent GeekGirlCon [Chicago Now]

Steven Spielberg admitted that the "E.T." changes were a mistake but he will still defend that scene in the most recent "Indiana Jones." [EW]

"Robot Chicken" is working on a DC Comics-themed episode (also Time Warner properties, owners of CNN). [Comicbookmovie.com]
