Five can't-miss Dragon*Con panels

You're going to Dragon*Con, right? And you've already figured out your game plan for the panels, right?

For those not-in-the-know, fan convention panels are closed-room sessions where uber-geeks and experts on a specific nerdy book, movie or genre as a whole (or, maybe even the actors, authors and creators themselves) sit down together to hash out a topic of interest for a room full of fans.

The biggest sci-fi and fantasy convention in the Southeast manages to present something for every kind of geek, bringing in franchise celebrities, zombie makeup experts, robot builders, cosplayers, even a couple Geek Out! contributors(!) for informative presentations.

Here are some of Dragon*Con's panels that will probably draw the biggest crowds:

Carrie Fisher, Honestly (Sunday, 4 p.m.)

Princess Leia herself has been everywhere lately talking about her 50 pound weight loss and the Dragon*Con newbie is never at a loss for words. This one is sure to be a lot of fun.

"The Walking Dead" cast Q&A (Friday, 4 p.m.; Saturday, 5:30 p.m.; Monday, 11:30 a.m.)

Fans of this show are dying to find out what will happen in the second season, and this is their chance to talk to several members of the cast. Expect the room to fill up at each panel.

"Back to the Future" Q&A (Friday, 11:30 a.m.; Saturday 4 p.m.)

"Doc Brown," "Lorraine McFly" and "Principal Strickland" reunite and answer fan questions. It should be a blast catching up with Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and James Tolkan.

"Dollhouse" (Saturday, 1 p.m.)

It's geek icon Eliza Dushku's first time at Dragon*Con, and she will join fellow cast member Tahmoh Penikett in reminiscing, and talking to fans about the shortlived Joss Whedon series.

"Game of Thrones" (Saturday 5:30)

It's the Dragon*Con crowd's first chance to discuss the first season of the HBO series that took the geek world by storm. There will be no shortage of interest from fans to talk about what they liked and disliked about the show. (Look for CNN Geek Out's Doug Gross on the panel.)
